A Walk in the Golden Light

Written May 14, 2026

I took a walk in the golden light

To gain a sense of clarity

And found instead

A little bit of serenity.

I wished to find

A truer sense of self,

Answers to the questions that haunt me,

Comfort for my doubts.

The breeze blown through my hair,

Light shone through the shadows of the trees.

A gentle breeze pecked my lips

As the bushes waved goodbye to me.

My feet caressed the the gravel ground

As birdsong performed gentle melodies.

Oh it must be divine — to be present in this world,

Unaware of mans’ follies.

A dove flew by, looked me in the eye,

And shared a sobering truth:

I could be like the birds

If I look up from time to time.

Other questions remained within me,

But I could bring them back another time.

For the masters of poetry can never touch

What I learn in the Golden Light.
