Local News Day 2026
Happy Local News Day!
My heart is overflowing with gratitude today for every single incredible person I have had the chance to meet, for every amazing show or gallery I have attended, and for every wonderful thing that has happened during this remarkable journey of writing for the JOLT News. I am so honored to write for this community centric newspaper and cannot wait for all the adventures that lay ahead in my column, “In the Audience.”
Yesterday, I went to the JOLT’s Event “Local News on Trial” and got to learn some crazy statistics surrounding our world of journalism. Watch this video to learn more.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was getting to meet some of my incredible fellow columnists at the JOLT including George Walter, Jill Severn, and David Scherer Water. Each make the community a better place. They are also really cool people!
The most meaningful part of the evening, listening to the man, the myth, the legend himself, Danny Stusser give a speech on the hopes and goals for The JOLT’s future. Bright things are ahead, but I would be amiss if I did not encourage you all to give Danny a round of applause! His heart is to always keep the JOLT free, accessible, and equally representative of all!
We have had amazing adventures in the audience, and a good portion of that would not have happened without Danny! So come on, take five seconds to clap! Clap, CLAP! I SEE YOU! :)
I know a happy tear would come to Danny’s eyes if he could see your applause right now, but I have an even greater idea for a way we could bless this man and our beloved paper!
We have big goals, and we need your help! Please consider making a donation to the JOLT News! Everything helps, and when we come together, MIRACULOUS THINGS CAN HAPPEN!
Helping the JOLT helps In the Audience keep going, and I would hate to have something as annoying as money get in the way of our fun!

Thank you all for joining me in this journey, cheers to all the adventures ahead!
LOVE TO YOU ALL!
